This November, History Chats is looking at the history of some of Wausau’s neighborhoods. As we wrap up the celebration of the City of Wausau’s 150th anniversary, we want to feature some stories about the areas that have given Wausau its flavor and charm.
The shelves in our archives have hundreds of boxes that may not always look very exciting from the outside, but as is often the case, it’s what is on the inside that’s important. This October, History Chats takes a look at some interesting archival collections to tell the stories of the people who created them.
September marks the end of our second full year of doing History Chats, and so to mark the last month of programing before starting on year three, we are highlighting some interesting “lasts” in Marathon County’s history.
This August, History Chats is featuring some of the villages from Marathon County. Join us virtually, every Thursday at 12:30, to learn about these communities and their history.
There are a handful of communities in Marathon County that never quite grew into a village or city, but neither have they become ghost towns as other burgeoning communities of the past have. So in the month of July, History Chats takes a look at four of these unincorporated (but distinct) places.
History Chats will be returning to an older theme this June, and will be featuring stories of some remarkable people from Marathon County’s history.
